Hey team,
As promised, after today’s article taking down “focus at all costs” culture, I’ve got some helpful resources for you to help focus your time and energy when you have a lot of stuff to do - because if you’re going to throw stones, you should be able to back it up with a better option, right? I’ve included two options for you.
1. 7 Steps to Focus
I created this video guide and accompanying workbook when I was spinning my wheels in project overwhelm in 2023. Interestingly, I’ve finished with almost all the projects I had on at that time - but the top projects were successfully completed, so that’s a good sign. If you’re a nerd, you’ll recognise the use of multi-criteria decision analysis - the same kind of stuff we do to assess options in a business case or award a tender on a procurement panel. I use MCDA for more personal issues than I’d like to admit. (What am I saying, I’m not ashamed of that, I’m delighted with myself. Nerds unite.)
2. Get Your Shit Together
I’ve also added a workbook I created in 2020, when I ran a group coaching programme for overwhelmed women on Sunday evenings. This book is a bit more right-brain, guiding you through tools and processes based on feelings rather than an MCDA. Contents page below.
Hopefully there’s something for everyone in here.
Enjoy.
